Better late than never. Here’s my jubilee T shirt.

And the making of pictures….

The project is based on bondaweb and iron on interfacing.

What’s that you say? A picture of the actual torch bearer? Nope, sorry by then we’d waited over an hour, a man next to us had trodden on Oz, who was having a meltdown over the police sirens and Em wanted her bottle! So no, no pictures of that! No hands free! (It sounds bad but we really did have fun!)

Just as Oscar has started refusing Mummy’s wearable creations I have a second child to terrorise! I’ve been seeing dresses from baby vests about blogland for a while, so here’s my version!

And as modelled by Miss Emily…

And here’s how:

Trace logo onto bondaweb in REVERSE and iron on.

Cut out strip of fabric for skirt, mine is 3 times width of vest (1.5 times circumference). Iron hems both edges.

Hem bottom edge.

Sew side seam to make skirt.

Turn right way out and press seam open.

Pin centre front and back of skirt to baby vest.

Pleat and pin.

Stitch around top edge of skirt.

Take a deep breath an applique around logo. Tricky on a teeny vest!

As you know we’ve been away in the camper over the Jubilee, Jamie is racing. Despite this, we wanted to be festive. Oz and I baked gingerbread last week before we left and then we decorated it when we got here. (What else does one do in a camper in the rain?)

We haven’t tried decorating biscuits like this before. We used the cookie cutters on thinly rolled ready roll and stuck them to the top of the biscuits. Later on I piped the rest.

Here’s Oz doing the cutting out. (I wrapped the camper table with cling film which turns out to be a top tip for easy clean up!)

Preparing the cakes (in the campe cos Jamie is racing!)

Before Daddy’s hover display at the the Nottinghamshire Jubilee Event at the National Watersports Centre. Poor Oz was rather stressed by the crowds. 😦

Watching the display (with 20,000 or so other people!) Gutted that Em’s Jubilee Outfit is covered by her bib in this one! Will be post all about making it soon!

Gotta love Juliet’s wellies!!!

There are plenty more jubilee themed posts to come, you’ll have to bear with me as internet access in a field is touch and go!!! 🙂 Must post this quick while it’s still just about Wednesday!

This week was Uncle Chris’ birthday so it was rugby all the way…

Thank you very much to Susan who reminded me when I was panicking about Saracens playing in black and black icing being a pain that England play in white!!!!

It was a decorate-fast-you-have-a-deadline cake, in fact I was just finishing as he walked in the door! Hence the bare edges!

Here’s the process.

Cut the shirt shape from paper to cut around.

Tips for the rose: don’t be too fussy about getting it ‘exactly’ right just go for thefeel of it. Use a scalpel instead of a regular knife.

When it was done Auntie Susan helpfully counted a lot of candles out so he’d have the right number. Who’d have sisters in law, eh?
