Do you pray with your kids?
It’s something I find quite difficult. We do prayers after Oz is snuggled down in bed. But we always end up saying the same thing: thank you for today, please help us all to sleep well etc.
I can’t claim credit for this idea. I’ve seen it all over blogland for all kinds of uses; chores, activity ideas, getting ready for school check list you name it, it’s out there! We’re using ours for a prayer jar to give us variety in who we pary for every night.
First we wrote the names of who to pray for on fat lolly sticks (they came in that goodie box that Oz won last year). It’s a random selection, as Oz chose them!
Then I decorated a jar to put them in (Oz had wandered off at this point!)
So now when we get ready for bed we pull out 2 sticks and pray for whoever is on them. (or that’s the idea, mostly he pulls them all out and chooses, still I suppose that’s reading/word recognition, right?)
While I was at it I made one for me too. But mine has issues and ‘things’ to pray for as well as people. I added tape to the ends of the people sticks so I can pick one person and one situation.

I LOVE this idea. My kids would love to do this. I’ve been praying with them in the mornings when we wait on the bus but this will remind us to pray at night too. Thank you for visiting my blog & commenting!
Love this & how you are teaching your children about prayer! Thanks for linking up to TGIF! Have a GREAT week,
Beth =-)
