The lovely Bethan made these with her boys and Oz this week! The basic idea was taken from Mr Maker on Ceebeebies I’m told.
Here’s how they did it:
You need the following items, plus coloured paper scraps that I failed to photograph.
First cut the box in half and the tube about 2/3 to 1/3. You need to cover them with pva glue.
Then cover the glue with newspaper. If you aren’t 3 and want it to lokk the most like brick, you need to use all newsprint (no titles or pictures) with the lines running horizontally. If you’re 3 just go ahead and stick whatever on where ever!
Now go play cars for a while while Mummy finishes off the edges, covers the ends of the tubes so they stick down, and wait for it all to dry a bit!
Have Mummy cut windows and doors and castelations from coloured paper, Stick these all over apropriately.
Turn the plate over (mister maker’s plate was green apparently) and stick down the tubes and boxes open end upwards in whatever castle like arrangement you like.
Wander off and let Mummy have fun making a path!
